St. Louis VIP joins FYI to support youth in the city of Ferguson and surrounding communities! They are enlisting the support from anyone who is in favor of healthy, happy, and civilly engaged young people in North County. We are inviting community residents, child and youth advocates, educators, religious leaders, public leaders, media personalities, and special guest, OUR YOUTH to host the First Annual FYI Benefit Banquet. Guests are invited to enjoy an empowering word from Dr. Joseph Davis, Ferguson-Florissant School District’s newest superintendent. Our formal evening will include a sit and serve dining experience, cash bar and light entertainment. We will enjoy our evening at the Ferguson City Community Center at 1050 Smith Ave. Ferguson, MO 63135. Come join us to show our young people that we care about their future and their city! Ticket price is $50 general admission; $65 for VIP SEATING.

FYI is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization serving the youth of the Ferguson community by encouraging them and engaging them as active members of the community, developing programs as needed, and further communicating and partnering with existing community youth programs. We recognize the successful contributions that youth have on a community. When young people are civilly engaged in a community, they deliver high value. When the community does not engage its youth, the challenges may include increased high school drop-out rates, increased violence, and a higher chance of entering the corrections system. Please consider supporting us today, you can make a difference in the lives of many!

WHY WE SUPPORT
2nd Saturday is an art focused program where youth work together in exploring ways to use art to elevate youth voices, while at the same time building relationships with each other and the community. Youth collaborate directly with local artists, delving into styles and techniques to self-express and experiment with multiple medians of art.

This St. Louis BICYCLE WORKS program gives youth the opportunity to earn a free bike while they learn about bicycle safety and maintenance from volunteers. The St. Louis Bicycle Works Earn-a-Bike program aims to teach kids that they can set goals — and reach them.

The St. Louis Byte Works Earn-a-Computer program aims to teach kids that they can set goals — and reach them. During this free six-week program, kids attend a series of hands-on courses. The courses are designed for 4th-8th grade students. Upon completing this six-week program, children earn a computer!

Ferguson Community Service Program (FCSP) will provide youth an opportunity to perform mentor guided service work in lieu of incarceration or fines for ordinance violations or as a condition of probation; to receive, through our partners, any psychological, drug related, social and/or family counseling as deemed appropriate; and to receive guided inclusion in positive youth-directed activities and peer counseling through the Ferguson Youth Initiative (FYI).

Open Arts is an opportunity for teens to be creative and showcase their talents in front of their peers and families. One of our past Ferguson Youth Advisory Board members introduced the concept and ever since, the board has helped plan the event including attracting talent to participate.

Spot 394 is a pop-up youth center. It is an event for teens 13-18 years old. Through collaboration with the City of Ferguson and regional agencies such as the Emerson YMCA and the Ferguson-Florissant School District, Spot 394 has been hosted in multiple facilities throughout the community. Each facility is transformed into a youth center where young people can play games, listen to music, and engage in other youth-centric activities.
